Green Bay, Wis.-
Cellcom has partnered with the Green Bay Phoenix to support The Salvation Army. Food and monetary donations will be collected in the Resch Center lobby prior to the UWGB men's basketball game against Butler on Saturday, February 9 and again before the UWGB women’s basketball game at the Kress Center on Thursday, February 14. All contributions will be donated to the Salvation Army.
Cellcom will match all donations received at these games and make a matching donation in July when food pantries run short on the necessary items. "We are proud to partner with UWGB Athletics and the Salvation Army to help the community,” said Bonnie Cayemberg, community relations manager for Cellcom. “With the support of folks in the community, Cellcom will be able to further assist those in need by matching the donations." In addition, between now and February 23 any non-perishable food donations can be dropped at any of Cellcom’s retail locations or authorized agent locations. These amounts will also be matched in July.
"This winter has been very difficult for the families coming to The Salvation Army for assistance," said John Manser, director of operations for The Salvation Army of Brown County. "Any assistance the community can provide, will go along way, to combat hunger in Northeastern Wisconsin."
