You cannot updgrade this phone. Stephen says you can, but thats only if you unlock the phone, but by doing that your warranty is void. so the phone is outdated.

The Good and Bad

The CellCom Motorola Milestone has the potential to be a great phone if it could be updated to FRG83D (2.2). However, I was told by CellCom that this phone will not be getting an update to the new OS. An update does exist but, it’s for another vendor. Installation of the update will void the phone’s warranty. I would not recommend this phone without the 2.2 OS.

Don't post hate comments. This phone is amazing, You actually can upgrade it to Android 2.2, if you knew how to use the phone >.<. I'ts very fast on Cellcom's 3G Network, I have 3G almost everywhere I go. I recommend this phone.

Not updateable

This phone is amazing but the fact that it is essentially dead in the water because you can't get the latest software is very frustrating. You don't get the complete web experience because many sites include flash content and I can't download Adobe flash player 10.1 because I can't upgrade my phone to Droid 2.2. Very disappointing.

Old phone

Nothing worse than getting the new top of the line phone and finding out that it can not be updated. Android is supposed to be this open platform that is just locked out so we cant get the new updates. The phone would be great if we were living in 2009. Get with the program and stop blocking the access to these phones potential. They charge enough as it is for these types of phones. I do love it but am very disappointed to find out it is old news

Decent phone, but hardware is dated. Phone is a year old and locked into old software with no future updates.

This is the Motorola Droid. Verizon has exclusive rights to the "Droid" label, so we get the European version. Outside of the name and a few Verizon-specific apps, this phone is IDENTICAL to the Droid. Haven't used the slide out keyboard very much at all, I've got some big fingers and the virtual keyboard is plenty big. The Android OS is a huge upgrade from my previous Blackberry, and I would encourage all who are looking to get a new smartphone to give this big guy a shot!

Not worth it.. no Froyo 2.2

Nothing like just getting an outdated phone. Will never get current Android version 2.2 aka Froyo. Waste of time.

Great media device!

I was impressed by the Milestone's virtual keyboard. The slide out qwerty keyboard is sub standard compared to other non-smart devices. The navigation button is intrusive. However, the large 3.7" display makes using the virtual keyboard easy to use.
The standout for me is the capabilities expanded by two accessories, the media dock and the navigation car mount. The media dock conveniently changes the screen to a large desk clock with easy one-touch access to music, pictures and charges the device. With Motorola's media link software, the Milestone is really the only other device than the iPhone that easily syncs your media content with your device.
