Frequently Asked Questions

Voicemail

  • It's quite possible that your phone is not forwarding to voicemail. This can occur if you accidentally dial one of the forwarding commands (i.e. *92) before the number you wish to dial. Doing so forwards your line to an invalid number. To re-forward calls to voicemail, please contact Cellcom Customer Care.

    1. Dial your 10-digit phone number. If you are calling from a wireless device, press SEND to complete the call.
    2. You will receive a special introduction for new subscribers.
    3. When prompted for your PIN, enter the last 4 digits of your phone number.
    4. During this session, you will be instructed to:
      • Create a new PIN. To protect your privacy, all mailboxes require a PIN with a minimum of four numbers.
      • Record your name announcement
      • Record your personal greeting
    5. Next, you will hear a general introduction to the voicemail system.

  • Typically, the message will almost always be in the voicemail box at the time it is left by the calling party. However, it's possible that you didn't receive indication of the voicemail, and thus, would not have checked your messages. It's important to know and understand that you only get one voicemail indicator, meaning if there is already a new message waiting, you will not receive a new notification for each subsequent new message that is left. So if you ignore or delete the indicator or if you don't listen to a new message in its entirety, you typically will not receive a new indicator until all "new" messages have been entirely listened to. There are other possible reasons for not receiving voicemail indication, so if the above scenario doesn't fit, please contact Cellcom Customer Care.

  • What was the issue?
After a recent device change, voicemail setup did not properly complete. Individuals could still leave a voicemail, but a notification indicating a new message would not appear.

How long have I not been getting notifications?
This varies by user, but would have started occurring after a recent device change or device upgrade. Now that the issue has been repaired, restarting the device will trigger notifications to appear for any unopened messages.

  • You will get a notification when a new message arrives.

When you receive a new voice message notification, drag down the notification bar and tap Cellcom Visual Voicemail notification or go into the Voicemail app and tab inbox. This provides a list of all your messages.

  • Open the Cellcom Visual Voicemail App and go into your inbox. Tap the message you want to view. In the voice message, press the play button to listen to the new voice message.

  • Tap the message/messages that you would like to delete. Tap the trash can image at the top of the screen. Tap Yes to confirm deleting the voicemail message.

  • Go into the visual voicemail main menu and tap "greetings". Tap on the greeting that you would like to change (Personal, Meeting or Vacation). Tap the red record button to begin recording your greeting. Tap the square stop button to stop recording and listen to the recorded greeting to verify its quality. If you are happy with your recording, tap the "save" button.
